Why did you choose umpiring?

To maintain an active role in the sport

Who has had the most influence on your umpiring career?

Darren Goodger

Describe your memories from your First Class debut

Calm…..had a brilliant partner in Simon Fry.
Had appeals on first ball of my 1st and 2nd over of the match.

Which is your favourite cricket ground to umpire at and why

Adelaide Oval.  Love the way they have modernised it yet have kept and preserved the old world charm and elegance, and view of the iconic cathedral.

What's the strangest thing you've seen happen on field

Still to happen

Greatest cricket moment you've seen on field

Seeing Australia beat England by 45 runs in the 1977 Centenary Test at the MCG…….the exact same score from the game in 1877

If you could invent a new rule for the game, what would it be

Double play…..the ability to dismiss a batsmen via run out only upon the dismissal of the other batsmen.  Would be great for TV.

Why should people get involved in umpiring?

Best seat in the house.

What advice would you give to aspiring umpires?

Be patient and don’t pretend to be someone you are not…….you will get found out in the end.
