15 November 2016

Simon Fry - SL v ZIM

Australian Umpire Simon Fry has been appointed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to the upcoming two match Test Series between New Zealand and Pakistan in New Zealand.

Having just returned from the Zimbabwe versus Sri Lanka two match Series in Harare, Fry only had a couple of days at home in Adelaide before travelling to Christchurch for the upcoming Series.

Fry is appointed as Third Umpire for the first match starting on Thursday in Christchurch, before standing in the second Test at Seddon Park. The match in Hamilton will be Fry’s 4th on-field Test Match appointment.

Since Fry’s debut in October 2015 where he became the 481st Test Umpire, he has also been appointed by the ICC to the ICC Women’s World Cup during March/April in India and England versus Pakistan One-Day International Series in the United Kingdom throughout August. Fry then returned to Australian shores for the Matador One-Day Cup tournament in October before travelling to Zimbabwe.

Fry joins Playing Control Team (PCT) of ICC Elite Panel members S Ravi and Ian Gould.
