Paul Wilson on ICC duty in the West Indies
Cricket Australia (CA) National Umpire Panel member Paul Wilson will join fellow Australian Bruce Oxenford in the Caribbean for the upcoming One-Day International Series between the West Indies and England.
Wilson has had a busy international season, travelling to India in October for the ODI Series also featuring the West Indies, before making a last-minute dash to New Zealand in early January for the Series against Sri Lanka.
These travelling international appointments were either side of the Australian international summer, where he officiated in both ODI Series between Australia and South Africa (November) and India (January). Wilson also officiated in the Gillette T20 INTL Series featuring hosts Australia and the same visiting teams. During the Domain Test Series against India, Wilson was appointed to the Boxing Day Match at the MCG as Fourth Umpire.
Wilson is on the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires and combines his international duties with the busy Australian domestic season. Wilson officiated in this season’s JLT Cup Final between Victoria and Tasmania and has been a regular feature in the KFC BBL|08, including bringing up his 50th Domestic T20 appearance in mid-January.
The five-match series commences on February 20 running through until March 2. Wilson will be on-field for the first (Bridgetown), third (St Georges) and fifth (St Lucia) matches whilst overseeing proceedings from the Third Umpire box for the two remaining games. Wilson joins Oxenford and West Indian Umpires Leslie Reifer, Greg Brathwaite and Nigel Duguid. The Series will be overseen by ICC Match Referee Andy Pycroft.
