Bruce Oxenford Rejoins Cricket Australia National Umpire Panel

Former International Cricket Council (ICC) Elite Umpire Panel (IEP) member Bruce Oxenford rejoins the CA National Umpire Panel (NUP) after almost a decade on the IEP.

Oxenford first joined the NUP for the 2003/04 season and brings a wealth of international experience to the panel. Oxenford stood in 62 Test Matches (29 Third Umpire), 97 One-Day Internationals (60 Third Umpire) and 20 T20 Internationals (11 Third Umpire). Last season, Oxenford won the prestigious CA Umpire Award for a record equaling fourth time having officiated in domestic and international matches across the summer finishing with his final Test Match appearance in the Fourth Vodafone Test Match between Australia and India at the Gabba in Brisbane.

During his time on the ICC IEP, Oxenford stood in a limited number of Australian domestic competition matches however his number of local appointments increased in recent seasons. In his tally of 56 Sheffield Shield matches, Oxenford has stood in three Finals and of his 39 Domestic One Day Cup matches, Oxenford has one Final to his name, the 2009/10 One Day Cup Final between Victoria and Tasmania at the MCG. With Oxenford’s appointment to the NUP, he will be available to stand in all CA domestic cricket competitions and provide an important mentoring presence for the other members on the NUP and SUP. Oxenford is a regular contributor at national, state and community events and is also a committed supporter of aspiring umpires.

Oxenford joins an expanded panel of eleven umpires which was increased from ten to service the upcoming Australian domestic cricket season.
