Cricket Australia (CA) National Umpire Panel (NUP) member Sam Nogajski will today stand in his 50th First-Class match when South Australia play Tasmania in the Marsh Sheffield Shield at Karen Rolton Oval.

Nogajski commenced his umpiring journey in the 2006/07 season where he became a member of the Tasmanian State Umpire Panel. In the same year was appointed to the CA Under 17 National Championships before officiating in the CA Under 19 Championships in subsequent years. His positive impact on the Apple Isle is no more evident in the fact that he has been awarded the Cricket Tasmania Umpire of the Year for an unprecedented nine consecutive years from 2010/11 to 2019/20 inclusive

In December 2010, Nogajski made his List-A debut in Burnie in a one-day domestic fixture between Tasmania and New South Wales, and the following season in November made his First-Class debut at the Gabba in the fixture between Queensland and New South Wales. Nogajski was then appointed to the 12-member CA National Umpire Panel in 2012/13. Throughout his journey, Nogajski has also had the opportunity to travel to New Zealand, South Africa, and India on exchange and has also travelled on ICC assignment to the West Indies; Papua New Guinea; South Africa; Vanuatu and United Arab Emirates.

In February 2017, Nogajski made his International debut in the T20 International between Australia and Sri Lanka in Geelong. Nogajski’ s One Day International debut followed In October 2017 in the ICC World Cricket League match between Papua New Guinea and Scotland. In January 2018, Nogajski stood in his first One-Day Internationals on home soil in the series between Australia and England.

Nogajski has been appointed to the last two Sheffield Shield Finals (2019/20 not played) and to date, has 45 List-A matches including two Domestic One Day Cup Finals to his name. Nogajski has also stood in 48 Domestic T20 matches including two Domestic One Day Cup Finals and today becomes just the 2nd Tasmanian Umpire to reach the 50 First-Class match-milestone. Nogajski will today stand on-field with Gerard Abood, with Match Referee Bob Stratford overseeing proceedings.
