John Ward travels to India for Ranji Trophy fixtures
National Umpire Panel member John Ward has been appointed to two Ranji Trophy fixtures, as part of the international umpire exchange program between Australia, India, South Africa and New Zealand.
His first Ranji Trophy fixture is scheduled in Hubli between Karnataka versus Delhi commencing on Monday 23 November. He’ll then travel to Chennai for his second appointment between Tamil Nadu versus Punjab, starting on Tuesday 1 December.
Ward has also stood in Plunket Shield and SuperSport Series fixtures in New Zealand and South Africa respectively as part of the long standing initiative between the four countries. In season 2014/15, National Umpire Panel members Mick Martell and Paul Wilson travelled to India for exchange, whilst Gerard Abood (South Africa) and Sam Nogajski (New Zealand) also travelled abroad.
Two other Australian National Umpire Panel members will travel to New Zealand and South Africa later this season; whilst Australia will welcome exchange umpires in the New Year.
