Cricket Australia National Umpire Panel (NUP) member Greg Davidson has travelled to India to officiate in their First-Class cricket competition, the Ranji Trophy

Davidson will stand in the fixture between Baroda and Tamil Nadu (Vadodara) starting Tuesday 4 February, before travelling to Mumbai to officiate the home team against Madhya Pradesh.

This is Davidson’s third overseas exchange appointment, having stood in the Plunkett Shield in March 2018, and two matches in the South African Sunfoil Series last season.

The annual exchange program between CA and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), sees an umpire from each country officiate in two matches in the other First-Class competition. It’s a development opportunity designed to improve umpire performance standards by exposing the participating umpires to different conditions, cultures, players and Playing Control Teams.

An umpire from the BCCI, New Zealand Cricket and Cricket South Africa will travel to Australia in the next month to stand in the Marsh Sheffield Shield.
