Cricket Umpires Australia
Graham-Smith and Polosak appointed to Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) Final
Match Official appointments announced for the WNCL Final
Polosak becomes the first female appointed to an Australian domestic cricket final. Joining the Cricket Australia (CA) Development Panel in season 2015/16, Polosak recently made her Women’s One-Day International debut as part of the Commonwealth Bank Women’s International Series between Australia and South Africa.
Originally from Goulburn New South Wales, Polosak had to travel to Sydney to complete her umpiring accreditations before joining the Sydney Grade Panel. She made her First XI Debut and elevated to the First Grade Panel in 2014/15.
Polosak’s umpiring career has progressed significantly in the last two seasons, which included being the first female official appointed to an Australian List A match in last year’s Matador One Day Cup where she sat in the 3rd Umpire’s chair. In April this year, Polosak was appointed by the ICC to officiate in the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 in India, the first Australian female to do so. Polosak then headed into the 2016/17 season well prepared, having also been appointed to the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in Samoa throughout July.
This is the second WNCL Final for CA National Umpire Panel member Graham-Smith, having also stood in the 2013/14 Final between New South Wales and Victoria at North Sydney Oval. Gail Cartwright and Peter Gagen have been appointed Scorers, whilst Peter Marshall will oversee proceedings as Match Referee.
The Final will be held at AB Field on Saturday 3 December from 10:00AM (local time). To watch the game via live streaming, please click here.
