Abood and Craig appointed to Marsh One-Day Cup Final
Gerard Abood and Shawn Craig have been appointed to the Marsh One-Day Cup Final between Queensland and Western Australia at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
Abood’s appointment in the middle for his first One-Day Cup final completes his treble of domestic men’s finals, having stood in the 2017/18 Sheffield Shield and 2018/19 KFC BBL finals. Tuesday’s final will be Craig’s second domestic men’s final after his appointment to the 2017/18 KFC BBL final.
The pair stand in the final having been appointed to various white-ball matches already this season. Earlier this month Craig made his men’s T20 International debut at the MCG in the match between Australia and Sri Lanka. His debut came on the back of being elevated to the International Cricket Council (ICC) International Panel of Umpires this season. Abood was also appointed to the T20 International Series’ featuring host Australia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, and was on-field in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra.
Craig commenced his season with appointments to the Women’s T20 International and One-Day International Series’ between Australia and Sri Lanka before standing in Marsh One-Day Cup fixtures.
Phil Gillespie has been appointed Third Umpire for the final having previously fulfilled this role in the 2017/18 Sheffield Shield final.
The Playing Control Team is rounded out with Daryl Harper who has been appointed to his sixth men’s domestic final as Match Referee. Cliff Howard and John Olding have been appointed Scorers.
