50 One-Day Domestic Matches for Peter Marshall
Cricket Australia National Match Referee Peter Marshall officiates his 50th One-Day Domestic Match today in the fixture between Western Australia and Queensland at Hurstville Oval in Sydney.
Marshall’s first One-Day Domestic refereeing appointment was back in November 2009 in the match between Western Australia and New South Wales at the WACA in Perth. The following season, Marshall went on to officiate the first of his five Domestic One-Day Finals.
Marshall has officiated as Match Referee in a total of 61 First-Class Matches, 58 List-A Matches and 56 KFC Big Bash Matches. In addition to his five Domestic One-Day Finals, Marshall has been appointed to three Sheffield Shield Finals and two KFC Big Bash Finals as Match Referee.
Marshall’s Cricket Refereeing career extends to Women’s Internationals where he has officiated in one Women’s Test Match, two Women’s One-Day Internationals and three Women’s T20 Internationals.
Marshall is one of the very few cross-code referees having officiated at the highest level of international Rugby. Marshall officiated in 30 Rugby Test Matches since debuting in 1993. Among his tally were three Test Matches in the 1999 Rugby World Cup in the UK including the 3rd & 4th Playoff between South Africa and New Zealand.
Marshall has officiated in several Cricket Australia Underage Championships in recent seasons. As a member of Cricket Australia’s National Match Referee Panel (NRP), Marshall works closely with the next tier of Referees, the CA Supplementary Match Referee Panel (SRP).
Congratulations to Peter Marshall on reaching this significant milestone.
