Why did you choose umpiring?    Took it up at an early age when a knee injured forced me out of playing cricket for 12 months. I enjoyed my first season and went back to playing cricket, knowing full well that I would return when my playing days were done! 5 years later I was back umpiring and haven’t looked back 
Who has had the most influence on your umpiring career?    My mentors and every umpiring partner I walk onto the field with. You never stop learning
Describe your memories from your First Class debut    Nov 15 – 18 2011 - QLD vs NSW at the GABBA with Simon Fry. It was very hot throughout and the contest never let up. It was a big step up and an addictive challenge
Which is your favourite cricket ground to umpire at and why    WACA. The weather, the pitch and the people 
What's the strangest thing you've seen happen on field    Bringing in the boundary due to the creation of a sink hole just outside the rope just before the start of play 
Greatest cricket moment you've seen on field    To be honest, it is hard to pin point a particular “moment”. Every game you get to witness great batting, bowling or fielding
If you could invent a new rule for the game, what would it be    Double plays 
Why should people get involved in umpiring?    You meet great people from all walks of life with one thing in common, a love for the game 
What advice would you give to aspiring umpires?    Take on the challenge, embrace making mistakes and enjoy the best seat in the house
