Cricket Australia, In partnership with the ICC T20 World Cup, are excited to offer a new suite of classroom resources for both primary & secondary students that explore the topics of well-being & gender equity. These curriculum aligned units are designed to challenge & inspire not only students, but teachers & families across Australia.

Classroom Units

Personal Wellbeing

In this unit of work, students will develop their understanding of their personal wellbeing through a range of activities and experiences that are designed to enhance self-care and highlight the importance of supporting ones' overall health. Students will identify where they need more support and develop a lifestyle plan to follow and reflect on to improve their overall wellbeing. Throughout this topic, students will also explore mindfulness techniques and identify activities and habits in their own lives which could further support them going forward.

Inspiring Women and Girls

In this unit of work, students will explore the achievements of trailblazing women and girls. Students will interact with members of their community to discover how people can make a difference in small ways, and examine how some famous inspirational figures used their journeys and struggle to leave an empowering legacy for others. Throughout this unit, students will consider how they can personally affect change in their daily lives and become a source of inspiration for others around them.

Community Wellbeing

In this unit of work, students will explore the wellbeing needs of their school community. Students will discover the meaning of ‘community’ as it is relates to them personally and investigate how their school community supports the wellbeing needs of staff, students and families. Students will also identify ways in which their school community could better support the wellbeing needs of its stakeholders and design a ‘school of the future’ that meets those needs. At the completion of the unit, students will implement one feature from their ‘future school’ within their own school community.

Build Your Own T20 World Cup!

In this non-prescriptive unit of work, students will learn about the history of cricket and the T20 tournament to plan and create their own T20 World Cup. Students will explore the diverse roles involved in event planning, understand the individual cultures that come together, investigate how sectors such as marketing, health and safety, physical training and fundraising are all involved, as well as refine their cricket skills within HPE sessions. Throughout this unit of work students (or classes) are required to keep a learning journal to document their thoughts, ideas, and notes on their enterprise project.
