December Update

24 December 2021

Milestone 1 Update

As of earlier this week we’ve seen in excess of 2,500 registrations to State and Territory delivered Woolworths Cricket Blast (WWCB) Programs through the PlayHQ platform. As expected, all States & Territories are starting to use the platform, as we prepare for a large influx of registrations through PlayHQ for school holiday programs during the summer holidays. It’s great to see the PlayHQ platform is functioning as expected, and the Project team have been able to document some key learnings that will benefit community Clubs & Associations when they commence their transition from MyCricket.

Community Engagement

The ‘Getting started with PlayHQ’ outbound campaign has seen us successfully speak with ~1,750 Clubs & Associations throughout the country. As you would likely be aware, this campaign is the first phase of our thorough engagement and on-boarding plan that will see us regularly engage with every single Club & Association throughout the country, well in advance of the transition from MyCricket to PlayHQ.

The next phase of community engagement will commence in early 2022, which will involve a ‘Club & Association Guide’ providing volunteers with further details about the PlayHQ platform, key process changes, as well as answers to questions we’ve heard from the community to date. This Guide will be shared with all Clubs & Associations by your respective State or Territory Cricket Association representative. Another key feature of this engagement will be sharing the rollout plans, so that you know when you’re Club and/or Association will be transitioning across to PlayHQ.

Building PlayHQ with the community! (Community Update)

As mentioned in the October update, going forward these monthly emails will include a ‘community update’ section, where you will hear directly from members of the community who will shed some light on the contributions they’re making towards the successful transition to PlayHQ.

Please see below a testimonial from Fay Neubecker, who is a member of Australian Cricket’s ‘PlayHQ Change Champions Group’, who have been working closely with Australian Cricket and PlayHQ over the last six months.

My roots in cricket go right back - over the last 10 years I’ve held several roles within my local Association, with plenty of experience in fixturing, managing match results and player stats, and in recent years I have developed a passion for scoring. The MyCricket LiveScore App has definitely improved the way scoring is done, but PlayHQ will

continue to refine scoring even further.

I am thoroughly enjoying being a member of the PlayHQ Change Champions group, which comprises of 11 community cricket volunteers throughout the country. Each member has different levels of experience, and varying expertise, when it comes to volunteering at cricket Clubs & Associations. Through regular feedback & testing sessions, our role is to ensure that PlayHQ meets the needs of cricket volunteers and administrators throughout the country. It is so pleasing to witness the PlayHQ guys listening to what we all have to say and venturing to include these differences in the new product. Cricket Australia, the State & Territory Cricket Associations, PlayHQ and the Change Champions group all have the same goal of making PlayHQ the best product possible for the benefit of all involved in cricket

across Australia.

In addition to the exciting LiveScore designs, the competition &program (Blast) management side of the platform looks more streamlined and user-friendly. I feel the club administrator will be the real winner from the change to PlayHQ. Simplifying the process of creating registration products, all the way through to creating a competition, will help so many people navigate through what have become some very time-consuming tasks.

December Community Webinar (Postponed)

As we near the delivery of Milestone 2 we decided to postpone the December Community Webinar.

Delaying the Webinar will allow us to provide attendees with a far more comprehensive demo of PlayHQ, as majority of the core ‘cricket specific’ functionality will be live in the platform in early February. Further to this, now that the final community roll out plans are locked in, we will be able to share an overview of what the National rollout plans look like for the 2022/23 summer season and beyond.

More information to come in early 2022.

Subscribers Community

We’re very excited that this Subscribers community has continued to grow over the past couple of months, now above 720 people. If you know of others within your Club and/or Association who may also like to receive regular Project updates, please ask them to complete this registration form and we will add them to our growing list of community subscribers.

And don’t forget, if you miss an update, or you are a new subscriber, you can see all previous updates here.

Thank you again for your involvement and joining us on this journey.

Kind regards,

Cricket Australia - Community Cricket Department
