Coaching update from the SACA

24 May 2017

As we look to the 2017/18 season, there are several key developments in the coaching space in South Australia:

Coaching Vacancies

SACA will now centralise all coaching advertisements on its website at the following link - Coaching opportunities in SA. Community through to Premier Clubs are encouraged to make use of this opportunity.

Clubs looking for coaches at any levels (Head Coach/specialist coach/skills coaches, Seniors or Juniors) can email with a PDF outlining the job(s) descriptions and any further details, and the position will be published on the SACA website. All clubs are encouraged to use this central resource and coaches looking for opportunities should regularly check the page, particularly in the pre-season period.

Representative (Level 2) Coaching Courses

1. Adelaide Oval, 1-3 September, 2017

Expressions of interest can be submitted here

2. Northern Suburbs/Barossa – October 2017

SACA intends to offer a Rep. Course to the Northern Adelaide/Barossa region in early October 2017 (Term 3 school holidays). Open to all coaches meeting the requirements, and specifically catering to Para Districts, Barossa & Light and surrounding areas. Please check the website in the coming weeks for confirmation of this exciting opportunity for the region.

NB - The Representative Course is for currently active coaches at Representative Level (Premier Cricket, Association Rep. squads or higher) and have held Community Accreditation for a minimum of 12 months. Places are capped at 25 coaches per course.

2017 SACA Coaching Forum

Following the success of 2016’s Forum with John Buchanan and Ric Charlesworth, the 2017 event will feature a keynote address from 4-time AFL Premiership Coach David Parkin followed by an interactive panel featuring David and SACA state-team coaches. Accredited Community (Level 1) or higher coaches will be able to attend for free. The event will take place on Monday 18 September at Adelaide Oval. Follow the link to register:
