Cricket Australia Coaching
The semi-circle catching drill, often referred to as the horseshoe is no longer fashionable. We've all been there, we've all used it as our go to drill 5 minutess before we take the field.
Designed to give the players the opportunity to catch and throw before they walk out onto the field - and for one player/coach to show off their hitting skills...or lack thereof, this drill has been superseded by a new approach - and it's that simple, anyone can adopt it.
Why? Players hardly get a catch and rely on one player to hit the ball accurately to each fielder. The player hitting does not get to catch or throw the ball (despite a rotation policy...!)
