ACA Premier Cricket Program 2018-19

ACA Members are again making a big impact on Premier Cricket around the country in 2018-19.

The ACA Premier Cricket Program was launched in 2015 to support ACA members in their post- cricket lives via a program that retains and harnesses the skill, experience and knowledge of ACA Members to identify, instruct and inspire talent through the Premier Cricket pathway and narrow the gap between this level and State and International Cricket.

The 2018-19 season is the fourth year that the program has been running and now sees 180 ACA members engaged across 101 different Premier Cricket clubs across the country.

This year’s program sees 137 male and 43 female past playing ACA Members in coaching, playing and mentoring roles across the country. Of the 180 members involved in the program, 77 members are in playing / mentoring roles, while another 103 members are in coaching roles.

The program will again inject over $1 million into Premier Cricket in 2018-19 taking the total investment into Premier Cricket by the ACA and the players to well over $4 million since the program began in the 2015-16 season.

Below is a selection of the positive member experiences regarding the influence that the program has had on them and Premier Cricket around the country.

“The ACA Premier Cricket Program has allowed me to spend more time with our younger players coming into senior cricket. I have loved training with the young guns and seeing them improve in the middle.” Michael Cranmer - East Torrens District Cricket Club SA

“I think after coming through the Victorian program, my influence has been greater than I first recognised. The skill set I have been able to show and share with the juniors has been the most rewarding and great for club development.” Cassie Brock – Box Hill Cricket Club VIC

“This is probably one of the best development programs I’ve seen since we’ve been involved with cricket through the international players and the ACA making these funds available. Extremely important for the development of clubs and players.” Corey Richards – University of NSW Cricket Club NSW
