Context – The Junior Coach modules have been developed to assist junior cricket coaches (Stages 1, 2 and 3) connect with junior sport development in the cricket context. The modules include key junior development philosophies, strategies and resources that will help to create fun and engaging junior cricket environment.

The ten modules are:

  • Introduction
  • The Australian Way
  • Coach Approach
  • Scoring Runs
  • Pace and Spin
  • Fielding
  • Wicket Keeping
  • Lead the Game
  • Preparing to Perform
  • Assessment and completion

How do I complete the learning?

Pre-requisites - nil

Accessing the Course -

  1. Register as a Coach at https://www.community.cricket.com.au/coach

  2. Download the CA Coach App on iPhone via the App Store or Android via Google Play

  3. Go to Coaches / Membership and login in using your cricket.com.au email and password. If you have forgotten the password, select forgot password and re-establish.

  4. Select Coaches from the main menu in the App and then Junior Coach Course

  5. Go through and watch each module and complete the Self-Assessment and Reflections statements by selecting your own answer.

  6. When all modules have been completed and all Self-Assessment and Reflection statement ticked off, select generate final report

  7. Hit Generate Report and then email that report to yourself. You will require this report if you complete the face-to-face component of the Community Coach Course. Take this report to the face-to-face course and present it to the facilitator who will tick you off and assist you with any areas of concern.

Note – the Australian Cricket Learning Management system will only recognise and record your learning if you follow the login procedure when generating the report.

Cost – The modules are made available free to all coaches and volunteers via the CA Coach App.

Journey – This can be done as a standalone learning experience, or it normally follows the completion of the Introduction to Coaching modules.

The course also forms Part A of the Community Coach Course.
