What is the Grassroots Cricket Fund?

The Grassroots Cricket Fund (GCF) has been established by Australia’s cricketers to strengthen grassroots cricket for generations to come, and will commit up to $30 million from player payments to be invested to support and strengthen Australian community cricket.

The GCF is a joint partnership of the players, the Australian Cricketers’ Association and Cricket Australia, all working to ensure cricket clubs around the country maintain their position as pillars of local communities by providing equipment and facility upgrade grants.

This season there will be two rounds of funding via the Volunteer & Equipment Support Grants. The first round opening on 25 October 2021 and the second on 13 February 2022. Clubs and indoor centres are only eligible in one of these funding rounds, Please refer to the GCF guidelines below for further information.

Volunteer & Equipment Support Grants

For the fourth season running, the Grassroots Cricket Fund is making a total of $2.5 million available to the Australian Cricket community this season to deliver great experiences and support to their local communities. We know it‘s been a challenging time over the past 18 months, and this season, we are extending our support to include Indoor Cricket Centres and Premier Clubs.

Facilities Grants (ACIF)

The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) provides funding for community cricket facility projects, with a focus on growing participation and promoting accessibility and inclusivity. The Grassroots Cricket Fund is contributing up to $1 million to the ACIF in 2021-22.
