Running your Club

A Sport for All

Over the last three years Cricket Australia in partnership with Commonwealth Bank have invested in developing playing opportunities for junior girls through the Growing Cricket for Girls (GCG) Fund.

Direct investment into community associations and clubs, secondary schools and school sporting associations has seen the number of girls playing junior cricket increase significantly. There are more all girls teams playing in all girls competitions than ever before.

The upcoming 2019/20 season is a once in a lifetime opportunity for cricket. With the WBBL moving to its first standalone season in October and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Australia in March 2020, we can inspire and connect more girls to play cricket whether they are picking up a bat for the first time or on a pathway to play for Australia.

Entering its final year, the GCG fund is the biggest single investment by an Australian national sporting organisation into sport for teenage girls. We recognise the Commonwealth Bank as principal partner for the Fund and thank them for their support.
