Cricket Australia recommends that participants, clubs and associations adhere to their relevant state and territory government gathering limits when considering a return to playing competitive matches of cricket.

As per the AIS Framework, there should be a phased approach applied by way of returning to training for a period of time before competitive play returns. Whilst clubs have many operational issues to consider in supporting players to return, we would encourage associations to strongly consider using shorter formats throughout this season. This will help in mitigating any second wave of increased COVID-19 transmission, as well as reduce the risk of volunteers or participants not being able to be at matches due to precautions taken to stay at home.
